SO, I'm engaged:)
I'm engaged to the most wonderful man EVER! :) and I'm not being biased.

He proposed on Saturday evening. After church we had dinner at UCHI (a sushi restaurant) that we both like. In the center of the shopping center that the restaurant is in, there is a fountain. It's the fountain he asked me to be his girlfriend and enter into our courtship at. As we arrived at the restaurant I realized we hadn't been there in awhile and I asked him if we could visit "our fountain". He said, "Sure, after we eat." Little did I know, my suggestion made things easier because he was trying to get me to that fountain without making things too obvious. We had dinner---FABULOUS food and then he realized he left his wallet in the car. He went to the car to get his wallet and came back with his messenger bag. I thought it was weird and asked him why he brought it. He said he had a surprise for me but that he wasn't gonna give it to me until we got to the fountain. We left the restaurant and found our way to the fountain. We sat in a different spot than where he asked me to be his girlfriend because it was wet...lol!
We sat down and he reached in his bag to pull out the third book from Stephenie Meyer's series Twilight. I was very excited and smiling because I've really been enjoying the books. He'd actually been reading them along with me. When I finished the first book I passed it on and then the second as well. When I gave him the first book to read I told him that the characters personalities, some of their reactions and attitudes really reminded me of us--except that he's not a vampire:) As he read the books he said that he just laughed and laughed at how true that statement was.
So, we sat on the fountain looking at some cool stuff that came with it. It's a special edition book with a poster and some iron on transfers and we talked some about the story. He reminded me that he agreed with me about how we were a lot like those characters in the book. I laughed. Then he looked at me and said, "Do you know how else we are like them?" I thought for a second and then said, "No...how?" He smiled and said, "We're best friends." I giggled and said, "That's true!" Then he said, "Do you remember the part where Edward tells Bella that she is his life?" I smiled and said, "Yea" Then he said, "Leslie, you are my life. I love you." I didn't say anything at first because he leaned over to his messenger bag. I kind of sat there in a stupor because my initial thought was "Are you allowed to say those words to me?" (we have a courtship contract with specifics
) Next thing I know he's in front of me on one knee asking, "Will you marry me?" I sat there for a second with my mouth open. He says I giggled. I said, "YES! Of course!" Then we hugged.*sigh*
We both stood up to hug and when I turned around I noticed that we had an audience. So I told them, "We're engaged! He just asked me to marry him!" They all smiled. LOL!
We sat down and talked for a bit about how we got to the place where we are at in our relationship. (We did the same thing when he asked me to be his girlfriend) And he told me that everyone (all our close friends) knew and had known for a few weeks now. My friends did a great job keeping it a secret because I had NO idea! :) I love them.
We walked back to the car and he said we were going to our friend's John & Nilda's house. We held hands for the first time...EVER!
Mind you we only recently got to start hugging a week and a half ago
When we got to John & Nilda's house the people who have been the most involved in our courtship were there to greet us with congratulations and singing "Going to the Chapel and you're gonna get married!" They're so cute! They all toasted us with ginger ale and we had coconut cake...YUMMY!He also told me that I'm beautiful for the first time *sigh* It was quite a night.
I'M a FIANCEE!!! Lol:)
Just wanted to share the story so you all know how it went down:) Please keep us in prayer as we plan our wedding. We're looking at 102 days before we tie the knot. He apparently doesn't play games:)
Lots of love to all of you and thank you all for the congratulations, prayers and sweet, sweet words!:)

You don't know me, and I'm not even sure how I found your site exactly — I guess through other links, but I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS and how blessed I am at getting to read a little bit about your courtship story.
I think successful courtship stories are some of the most powerful testimonies of faith and dependence on God! I'm thanking God for everything He must have done to author yours and you for having shared some of it with us.
I'm praying that He'll continue to use this testimony 1) to bless and strengthen YOU as you keep walking with Him and 2) to bless OTHERS as it's already blessed me. I know God will give you so many opportunities to use this testimony (and bring Him Glory) as the two of you minister to others throughout your marriage!
What a fabulous start! How amazing! Thanks again for the encouragement of your story. I hope also to have the blessing of such a God honoring testimony someday!
Congratulations! What a beautiful story! =)
That is so special and I thank you for sharing your special moment with us.
Its such a good love story!
Blessings to you!
your engagment and marriage are in my prayers...
Wow...
Congratulations!
That is sooooo awesome.
There were some other parts in there, but that's pretty much it.
I love you
